From Thale around the Bodetal to Treseburg

• Stop at an Inn

The starting point of this route is the central hiking meeting point at the Bodetal Information Thale, from where you follow the signposting »Rosstrappe« (green bar) into the Bodetal. On the uphill leading Präsidentenweg, you reach the Berghotel Rosstrappe a few meters after the Bülowhöhe viewpoint. From here, following the signposting, you reach the Rosstrappenfelsen with the famous hoof print in about 15 minutes.

Back past the hotel, you reach the parking lot with the hiking trail signpost tree. From here, you follow the signposting »Altenbrak« (green bar) and reach the road junction with the »Tresestein« and a shelter on level paths. Following the signposting, you reach the Langen monument with a shelter. From here, you follow the signposting »Todtenrode« (green triangle) to the idyllic forest inn »Zum Alten Forsthaus«.

Now follow the yellow cross marking downhill towards Altenbrak to the hiking trail junction »Böser Kleef«/Thale (detour to the viewpoint »Böser Kleef« with stamp station). From the junction, you continue on the hiking trail (green bar / yellow cross) to the parking lot in the center of Altenbrak and from there further on the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg (green witch marking) downstream along the river to Treseburg, where the hike ends.

Coming from the A36 take the Thale exit, continue via the L240 through Warnstedt to Thale, then continue in the direction of Bodetal
