The „Typisch Harz“ Label

Regional label for high quality products

Consumers can recognise the special quality of products from the Harz Mountains by the regional label "Typisch Harz".

The region of the Harz Mountains is rich in high-quality specialties from savoury, sweet to high-proof, and traditional crafts. The label is only awarded to regional products that meet certain criteria, and when the production follows the principle of “quality rather than quantity“.The regional reference area is the area of the districts of Goslar, Harz, Mansfeld-Südharz, Nordhausen and the old district of Osterode am Harz.

The "Typisch Harz" label can be applied for for products from the following product groups:

  • animal products (fish, meat, game)
  • raw plant products
  • processed / refined foodstuffs
  • handicraft products
     

In addition, the label can be applied for by restaurants for individual dishes or for the culinary establishment as well as by tourist facilities for products typical for the Harz Mountains area. Take a look at the products and services that have been awarded the regional label.
