"The Forest Calls” Initiative

The forest is calling! Some people in the Harz Mountains would like to say: the forest is crying out.

Decades of impact on the climate are only now becoming painfully visible. In some parts, where once magnificent greenery provided shady paths, bare, silver-grey trunks rise into the sky. It is no longer possible to look away from the devastation It’s time for action. And National Park forestry workers, contracted companies and helpers are doing just that.

Finding out first-hand what is what is currently happening in the forest, what challenges the stakeholders are facing and how the Harz is developing and has changed here and there as a holiday destination. Knowing the facts, having a say and, above all, taking responsibility for our nature and our habitats. This is what the initiative is about.

It helps to get the word out! With the support of the initiative, the aim is to spread knowledge instead of panic.

Well informed!
