Hiking variations on the Helleberg

At the start, we follow the right forest road (Wetteborner Weg) to an oak tree (white dot) in a left curve. Here we switch to the right onto a narrow path that meets a grass path at the forest edge and then continues to the left, always along the forest edge. The path becomes a forest road and leads left around the corner of the forest and after about 250 m left into the forest. At the next fork, we turn sharply right into an inconspicuous path (white dots) that goes through a hollow to a path on the opposite forest edge. We keep left and follow the path always along the forest edge to the second path where we could turn right to stop for refreshments in Wetteborn. The actual path, however, keeps left and ascends without turning in the spruce forest to the beeches on the ridge. Here we follow the path markers white X and yellow arrow to the burial mounds. Here a sign to the left points the way back to the start at the hiking parking lot.
