The path begins behind the information board on Hildesheimer Straße. It initially follows the RW 5 hiking signs in the proposed direction of the hike to the edge of the nearby parking lot. Before the small Gande bridge, we keep right, cross Roswithastraße, and quickly reach Hildesheimer Straße through a small park. Here, continue left towards the town center. Via the marketplace, you reach Moritzstraße, which becomes Northeimer Straße after the railway underpass. We continue upwards along it until a narrow path leads right up to Lahberg. The hiking signs then guide us to a bridge that crosses the federal highway. Just behind the bridge on the right-hand side begins a scenic field path on which we stay until the next fork. We keep right and walk on a grassy path through the beautiful dry grassland area of Lahberg. Shortly after, our path meets Neue Straße, which we then follow left to a small group of houses. Before the buildings, our path swings right, bypassing the houses in a wide left curve and reaches Orxhausen, always accompanied by the railway line. At the village entrance, we stay right and follow Dorfstraße to the railway crossing, then immediately behind it cross B 64 to reach the 'Grünen Jäger.' There is a dining option at the Dervish in Grünen Jäger (www.gasthausdervish.com). Those who prefer a rest in the greenery should previously use the versatile sports and leisure facilities of the charming village for a break. After the pause, proceed from the 'Grünen Jäger' on a path up into the forest, which soon meets a forest road that we follow right out of the forest. At the next fork, you can choose. Those who follow the signs of RW 6 will reach their destination via the idyllic Mahmilch floodplain and the magnificent Cluswald. This makes the route a bit longer but much more varied than RW 5. Those who decide on the original route walk straight on and reach the starting point again quite quickly, though less spectacularly. © T. u. H. Schrader
