Circular route along the Morgenbrodsthaler Graben. A hike through the wild romantic mountain landscape in the High Harz.

This hiking trail leads through a wild and romantic mountain landscape, past rocks, weirs, and rushing water. Here you will find many spots where you can take a short break.

Water from the High Harz could be channeled to Clausthal via the Morgenbrodsthaler Graben. This was not possible before. In Clausthal, the water was used for the water wheels in the mines.

The terrain here is steep and rocky in many places. The trench had to be painstakingly cut into the rocks by hand. This was hard and very strenuous work and took a long time.

On this path, you can enjoy beautiful views. At the end, the inn in the Sperberhaier Dammhaus awaits you.
