From the starting point at the market in Elbingerode, we head south and cross the B 27. Following "Karl-Marx-Straße" to the right, we turn left into Torstraße. Continuing straight ahead, we leave the town and come to a limestone quarry. Following the wide gravel path, we go on a plateau towards the forest. Continuing further south, following a broad right curve and a sharp left curve, we reach the wall of the Königshütte transfer dam. We cross it and follow the path along the water.
Shortly before reaching the village of Königshütte, we can make a detour to the Königsburg. From here we can enjoy the view and take a rest. After a steep descent, the route continues southward through a valley. After overcoming a steep ascent, at a crossroads with a wide path, we continue south. At a fork, we follow the path east and reach the wall of the "Rappbode forebay dam." We cross it and follow the path south again.
After leaving the forest behind, we follow a birch alley to Hasselfelde. Shortly before the village entrance, there is a wayside cross on the left. Inside the village, the route passes the Hagenmühle, follows "Hagenstraße" towards the center. At "Breite Straße," we turn left and reach the market of Hasselfelde.
