Your total cycling route of about 34 km starts in the Duderstadt Old Town, directly in front of the historic town hall. Heading north, you leave the city center via Jüdenstraße and Neutorstraße and at the Neutorkreisel roundabout turn right onto Ebertring. After about 400 m, turn left into "Leerensche Rinne." On this road, you leave Duderstadt and pass through the recreational area "Im Leeren." After 4.2 km and a short climb, you reach the Heinz Sielmann Nature Experience Center Gut Herbigshagen. The marked route next takes you via the Rote Warte. After 3.3 km you arrive in Fuhrbach. Simply follow the road and after about 4 km you reach Brochthausen. Pass through the village and turn left at the exit onto the Weser-Harz-Heide cycle path. After 8.4 km, you have reached the Rhume Spring. The return route leads you via Lütgenhausen and Rüdershausen. After another short climb, you reach the forest area "Hübental" with the eponymous forester's lodge. The next town ahead of you is "Breitenberg." Enter the town until you reach Windmühlenplatz. There, turn right onto Breitenbergerstraße. After about 1 km, the cycle path begins, which you can follow back to Duderstadt. You enter Duderstadt from the north. At the roundabout, just go straight ahead, and then pass through Neutorstraße and Jüdenstraße back directly to the historic town hall.

The route is well developed, but partly unpaved.

Tip for a stop: The Heinz Sielmann Nature Experience Center Gut Herbigshagen offers, in addition to the KI.KA treehouse, climbing path, willow house, reptile enclosure, fallow deer enclosure, organic farm, and an exhibition about Heinz Sielmann's life's work, also a café called "Hofküche," where visitors can refresh themselves daily with soup, stew, cake, pie, or various sandwiches made from organic products. Opening hours: November to March from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., April to October from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
