The varied path leads through forests, fields, and also urban areas. Numerous animal and plant species inhabit the roadside, offering an unforgettable nature experience.
Start at the "Window to the Harz" at Jacobsonplatz. When you stand in front of the window, go left up Jacobsonstraße and turn right onto Bismarckstraße. At the intersection, turn right, cross the street, and go up to Hasseberg. Walk along Bergstraße, past Tilly's Table - from this table Count Tilly is said to have led the battle at Lutter am Barenberge in 1626; he had Seesen plundered and burned down. Continue over Lauseberg to Dehneplatz. There stands the memorial stone of the "Reich Labour Service." Go left downhill, then right at the next turn and keep going until you reach Forellenstieg Bridge at the town exit on Lautenthaler Straße. Possibility to stop at the kiosk at the spa park, Hippokrates – Greek restaurant. Continue through Steinway Spa Park (established in 1892 and named after the famous piano maker) past Vogelwecker and the five spa ponds. Walk along the Schildau to the tennis courts. At the bridge, turn left and immediately right again, then walk to Wilhelmshöher Straße. Here you have the option to split the route: those who can no longer continue take the left path to the center. Those still strong go right and shortly after turn left onto Talstraße. After 100 m, a narrow path leads down on the left to the Schildau. Follow the course of the stream to the town exit at Braunschweigerstraße. Cross the street and follow the forest path. At the sports fields of SV Union, turn left and follow the path to the pumping station; there, go right into the forest. Continue to the junction at Silberhohl (7,000-year-old earth cavity), here incline left up the path. At the top, you can look inside the earth cavity. At the next junction, turn right and follow the field path up to the Great Schildberg - at an elevation of 276 m, you have a magnificent view of the surrounding communities. The path continues along Schildbergstraße. Here you have a splendid view of the Hebers ridge. Continue along Wantage-Weg and Schützenallee to the Park of Generations. A detour to the City Museum or St. Andreas Church is recommended here. Finally, continue through Markstraße back to the starting point.
