This challenging hike tests us: we want to reach the Kattnäse, a quartzite ridge, and for that, we hike across the Harz.
From our starting point, the spa park (Kurpark) in Bad Harzburg, we either take the cable car up to the Großer Burgberg or let our feet carry us along the Herzogweg. Once at the top, we hike towards the Kleiner Burgberg. Here we can take a short break before following the route along the ring trail through the Krodotal valley to the Wolfsklippen cliffs. Via Wartenbergstraße, we reach the Kattnäse, the highlight of our route. After enjoying the view abundantly, we hike through the Paulischneise to the Rabenklippe cliff, where the lynx enclosure and a place to refresh await us. Returning to the starting point, we go through the Stöttertal valley, along the Eckertalweg and the ascent through the Hasselbachtal, from where we shortly after reach the Molkenhaus. The descent over the Ettersklippe leads us back to the Kurpark.
