The Mönchehaus-Museum, a three-storey timber-frame building from 1528, is one of the stateliest mansions in the town.
Within these historic rooms, you will be surprised by the works of contemporary art; from paintings, sculptures, installations and prints by renowned artists as well as the picturesque sculpture garden. Changing exhibitions and program allow you to examine the various movements and techniques of contemporary art.  Particular focus is placed on the work of the holder of the "Kaiser Ring", an art prize awarded by the town of Goslar to outstanding artists of the present, and has been awarded annually since 1975.
