It is not only in North America that you can experience an "Indian Summer"; the Southen Harz region also offers a great opportunity.
The Ilfeld Maple Park, with its many international maple tree species, is a treasure with an impressive blaze of colour in autumn. The maple collection comprises around 270 trees, including very old trees such as a native sycamore maple with a mighty crown that is around 140 years old. The Ilfeld Maple Park Support Association e.V. is committed to the care of the park. Almost every newly planted tree has one or more sponsors. Often the trees are also dedicated to a special event such as a wedding or birth. The freely accessible park attracts visitors not only with its variety of maple species, but also with a wide view of the surrounding landscape.
