In the Zorge local history museum, visitors can examine a variety of objects from a mining village.
It is located in the center of the village in the Zacharias-Koch-Haus. On two floors with around 300 m² of exhibition space, visitors can view a variety of small and large objects from the daily life of a mining village from several centuries.
The building, which has housed the museum since 1988, was built in 1681 by the Chief Forestry Commissioner Zacharias Koch and served as the Chief Forester's Office until 1938. From 1958 to 1975, it was used by the municipal administration and then by the spa administration.
The Friends' Association was formed in 1978 and ran the museum in a private house until 1988, when it moved to the Zacharias Koch House. Thanks to the strong passion for collecting and the great voluntary commitment of the board members and members, the Zorge Local History Museum was gradually expanded and offers visitors over 2,500 small and large exhibits worth seeing.
