The Wieda Glass and Ironworks Museum documents the economic and historical background of the town in terms of "glassworks" and "mining and smelting".

In the "Glassworks" section, visitors to the Wieda Glass and Ironworks Museum can find out about the 100-year glassworks tradition in the forest near Wieda. The focal point of the exhibition is the finds from the site of the wine glassworks (1607 - 1623) in the glassmaking settlement of Westerwieda. Interested visitors can learn about the versatility of glass production, various processing techniques used by glassmakers and ceramics from the glassmaking families.

The "Mining and Smelting" section of the Wieda Glass and Ironworks Museum provides an insight into the historical development from the blast furnace works of the early modern era to the foundry operations of the 19th and 20th centuries.
