Harzer Fichteln, Fichtelschnaps & Biere

Short facts

  • Quedlinburg

Well-known and popular at folk festivals and Christmas markets in the Harz Mountains: Harzer Fichteln.

The Harz Fichtel is a tasty, juicy and spicy grilled sausage made from pork and veal from the region. The original recipe dates back to the Harz Mountains in the 19th century. The unusual thing about this recipe is one of its ingredients - spruce needles! The sausages are made by a master butcher from Quedlinburg in the traditional way and without additives and can be enjoyed both grilled and smoked.

The tasty Harz spruce sausages are perfectly complemented by a fresh spruce beer brewed by master brewer Odin Paul in Goslar. The spruce schnapps was developed together with the Harz Liqueur Manufactory and completes the typically Harz-certified spruce needle trio. Fresh Harz spruce shoots are the name and flavoring ingredient for all three.

The following products have been awarded the "Typically Harz" regional brand:
  • Harzer Fichteln
  • Fichtelschnaps
  • Fichtelbier
  • Harzer Urquell (Pilsner beer)
