So many mountains and yet in Holland? Not exactly, but a daughter of the Stolberg family, Juliana (1506-1580), is the direct ancestor of Beatrix, Queen of the Netherlands. Juliana's ancestral castle is enthroned above the little town of Stolberg, probably built before 1200. Today, you can admire two Renaissance and one Baroque wing. Inside there are beautiful stucco ceilings and the Roter Saal (Red Hall), a room built and furnished according to Karl Friedrich Schinkel.
