The Hausberg - Baude is located in a place with an eventful history. Lutterberg Castle was built here in 1183.
The family of the Counts of Lutterberg lived in the castle for many years until the last count died in 1398. After its complete destruction in 1415, only a few remains, such as the ramparts, are still recognizable today.
More than 100 years ago, an excursion restaurant, now the Hausberg mountain restaurant, was built on the ruins. Since 1954, a cable car has led from the center of Bad Lauterberg to the mountain restaurant. It has a cable length of 440 meters and overcomes a height difference of 110 meters. A special feature of the house is the large viewing terrace. Here you are guaranteed to find a sunny spot with an incomparable view of Bad Lauterberg and the southern foothills of the Harz Mountains.
The mountain inn is open daily from 10.30 am until late in the evening.
In the winter months, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are closed.
