On this route, we follow long-past sovereigns through the charming landscape at the Großer Burgberg and in the Radau Valley.

The start of our Emperor's hike is the spa park in Bad Harzburg. On foot, we go up the Herzogweg to the Großer Burgberg (alternative: cable car ride). From here, we follow the signposted Emperor's Path to the Molkenhaus: we admire the statue of St. Anthony on the square of the same name, pass the Säperstelle, and pause briefly at the Sachsenbrunnen. Via the Echo Square (We shout out to the world...), we then reach the "Molkenhaus" guesthouse. The picturesque little house and the idyllic location by the lake invite a longer break. Rested, we continue to walk in the Emperor's footsteps to the border path. Via the descent Abbetränke, we reach the Grottenklippen trail, which offers a wonderful view of the surroundings. The next noteworthy stops on our hike are the sulfur spring and the Radau waterfall. Here, another opportunity to stop for refreshments is available. On the Philosophenweg, we finally walk back toward the spa park – but not without taking a look at the Gabbro quarry on the left.
