NLP-Tour-03 - In the footsteps of Heinrich Heine to the Brocken

The 12 km long footpath to the Brocken—the Heinrich Heine Trail—is considered the most romantic ascent. The hike starts at Blochhauer in the Ilsetal. (You can find parking at Blochhauer or paid parking in the Ilsetal. TIP: Park for free at the Harzlandhalle; the Ilsetal fills up fast and can be accessed from here.) From here, follow the trail marker with the green crossbar. Always continue along the Ilse. Via the Bremer Way, past the Heine Memorial and the Ilse Falls, it goes to the Bremer Hut. Then continue to the Stempelsbuche and the Hermanns cliff. Here you turn left onto the Kolonnenweg and go over the Little Brocken to the treeless summit of northern Germany’s highest mountain, the Brocken (1141m). Once at the Brocken, you can take a break at the local restaurants and refuel for the descent. This returns via Brockenstraße, then on the Yellow Brink to the Bremer Hut. From there it goes back over the Ilse Falls into the Ilsetal to the starting point. We wish you lots of fun!

Dogs must always be kept on a leash, please take your trash back with you, stay on the existing paths, etc. 

The hike is challenging, so we advise sturdy hiking boots, sufficient drinks, etc.

Via the A36 exit Ilsenburg Stapelburg parking lot directly Harzlandhalle or further towards Ilsetal

Alternatively and free of charge: Harzlandhalle, city center, Ilsenburg Monastery

Bus and train (Ilsenburg station stop) from there on foot to Blochhauer and into the Ilsetal
