The starting point of the circular route is the parking lot at Michaelstein Abbey. The path is marked with an ammonite and crystal image. After a few meters, it crosses the streambed of the Klostergrundbach. You can reach it by walking shortly after the signpost on the right side between the houses. After you have climbed the steps, follow the shallow meadow path towards the forest edge. A very idyllic root path winds its way through the trees here. Further along, a small gorge opens up to the right of the path. Following the terrain, the path along the display boards reaches the valley floor of the Teufelsbach Valley. After the two bridges, turn right onto the forest road and after about 700 m cross the road between Heimburg and Oesig. With the bubbling of the Teufelsbach in your ears, continue below the sandstone rock “Hans Mönch” to the confluence of the Teufelsbach and Goldbach. Crossing the bridge to the right, you pass a small waterfall. At the "Mönchemühlenteich" you will find a rustic place to rest. The geological hiking route continues along the ponds to the road, where you keep to the right. After about 50 m, a wooden bridge leads to the left towards Teufelsbad specialist clinic. Straight ahead at the Teufelsbrunnen, cross the parking lot in its entire length. Passing the large ammonite and along the streambed, you reach Michaelstein Abbey again. Behind the administration building on the left and following the road across the monastery grounds, you reach the gatehouse through which the path leads back to the parking lot and starting point.
