From the Tourist INFO in Lautenthal, go along Kaspar-Bitter-Str., then turn right onto Sparenbergweg.
Behind the bridge over the Innerste, the hiking trail to the Innerste dam begins on the left, marked with a blue X. To the right runs a geological educational trail, where boards explain the impressive rock formations. At the road in front of the company premises turn right and immediately behind turn left onto the forest path marked with a green triangle continuing towards the dam. Uphill, it goes along the western slope of the Ecksberg to the Red Cliff, where there is a shelter and a nice rest area with a view of the dam. A steep path leads back down to the path with the blue X to the dam wall with a lovely view into the valley. Then it goes straight into the forest uphill on a forest road towards the club area with shelter and stamp point of the Harz hiking badge. The path leads south towards Kalte Birke on a ridge path through the spruce forest. Here, a stone with a wolf hook (symbol for a wolf trap) marks the boundary between the municipalities of Seesen and Wolfshagen. At Kalte Birke there is another shelter with a stamp point. At Schnapsplatz begins the descent to the left onto the Präsidentenweg. Initially straight, the path then leads in a large loop to L516. From there, it goes with another loop around Bromberg, then along the chestnut avenue to Bismarck promenade, past the mountain festival square and along the spa park back to the starting point. About 200 km of well-maintained hiking trails through the beautiful Harz forest.
