Parkeisenbahn Vatterode

Short facts

  • Stadt Mansfeld

Just get out and about! Ride the train - play - hike - romp around

Idyllically situated by the Vatterode pond, the Vatterode park railroad offers a relaxing ride through the countryside along the Feldrain. The small, fun train with its colorful carriages and its locomotive, a replica of a V180 series, travels leisurely along the 1.3 km long route through the Wippertal valley. At Wippergrund station, the locomotive is then turned on the turntable and shunted to the other end of the train and, true to the motto "The last will be the first", it goes back.

In the track loop at Mansfeld Schleife station (Vatteröder Teich), children can let off steam undisturbed and use the numerous games. Picnic areas invite you to linger.

A small, self-operated snack bar rounds off the offer. Whether coffee & cake, sausages & beer, lemonade & hot chocolate. There is always something for railroad enthusiasts of all ages.

You can arrive by car (parking lot directly at Mansfeld-Schleife station) or take the Wipperliese to Vatteröder Teich station.
