Short facts

  • Nordhausen
Visitors can look forward to more than 50 exhibits that have been faithfully restored to their original state, all of which were produced during the 90 years of history at the site on what is now Freiherr-vom Stein-Strasse. Characterised by changing owners and products, it has always been about vehicle construction in its various forms.
The exhibition shows mine and field train locomotives from the O & K era, complete cutaway models of the legendary Famulus tractor and the diesel engines of the 14.5 and 13.5 series. From the rotating engine crankshaft to the differential gear, the function of drive technology is clearly explained.
Each exhibit is accompanied by technical documentation in the form of an illustrated data sheet. This means that visitors cannot just familiarise themselves with the technical facts on their tour, but also with the respective historical context.
