Marco Fiedler distils his Harz GIN and much more with passion and love for the Harz region.
Between the proverbial schnapps idea and the first bottles of genuine Harzer GIN, there were visits to the authorities, extensive conversion work to ensure that the strict official requirements could be met and, of course, the development of the recipe.
In the first batch, just 40 bottles of genuine Harz GIN were produced... and then sold surprisingly quickly; except for the very first bottle.
Driven by passion, ambition and the urge to combine tradition and nature, Marco Fielder refines his recipes and is constantly expanding his product range to include other types of GIN, brandies, spirits and fine spirits.
The special regionality of his fine distillates is reflected in the processing of local raw materials - some of which come from his own garden - and in the ever-increasing networking with other (typical) Harz producers. When designing the logo for the Harzer Edelbrand Manufaktur, he has also remained down-to-earth with what lies on his doorstep - the "Hamburg coat of arms". This striking rock formation is part of the Harz Devil's Wall nature reserve, which stretches to the north-west of Timmenrode.
With so much connection to the Harz Mountains, applying for certification of the products with the regional brand "Typically Harz" is a logical step. A whole range - above all the genuine Harz GIN - meet the criteria and have received the award.
