Together with the Kleines Schloss, the Barockgärten reveal all the splendour of courtly life in the days of the Brunswick Duke Ludwig Rudolf zu Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel.
By skilfully using the hillside location with the wide view, the landscape gardener was able to conjure up "more" in such a non-existent space. Between hidden arbours, sculptures and water features, guests will quickly feel a little aristocratic themselves. The nearby Berggarten, the Stadtmauer (city wall), the modern Fasanengarten (pheasant garden) and the landscaped Schlosspark (castle park) are all part of the garden kingdom.
