Erzaufbereitung des Weltkulturerbes Rammelsberg

Short facts

  • Goslar

The Rammelsberg's surface facilities are a gem of outstanding industrial architecture, especially the seven-level ore processing plant on the mountain.

This complex, which combined the highest technical standards with extreme functionality at the time, was built from 1936. The buildings were designed by Fritz Schupp (1896-1974) and Martin Kremmer (1894-1945), architects who had already made a name for themselves with the planning of the Zollverein colliery in Essen. Guided tours of the museum explain the history of architecture and how ore processing works.
