Café Muhs

Short facts

  • Schulenberg im Oberharz

The traditional Upper Harz confectionery and master bakery Café Muhs in Schulenberg has been in existence since 1959 and has been run by the third generation of the family ever since.

The spelt bread, spelt rolls and white rolls are made from grain grown in the region. They are ground in their own grain mills and the traditional recipes are processed and baked with the knowledge of today. Barbara and Stefan Muhs sell their baked goods, including the Okertaler-Keimkorn-Brot®, which is unique in Germany and is made from sprouted grain, at the weekly market in Goslar as well as at seven other weekly markets from Bad Harzburg to Northeim and in the café in Schulenberg.

The following products have been awarded the "Typisch Harz" regional brand:

  • White rolls
  • Spelt rolls

In the main establishment, Café Muhs in Schulenberg, guests have a unique panoramic view of the Oker dam and the Brocken. Cakes from the in-house patisserie and coffee specialties are served in a friendly atmosphere.
