Short facts

  • Altenau

The beers from the highest brewery in northern Germany have a long tradition and are becoming increasingly popular.

As the highest brewery in northern Germany, the Altenau brewery deliberately produces its beers by hand. More than 400 years of brewing tradition in the Upper Harz, one of the last directly fired brewing pans still in operation in Germany, regional malting barley from the primeval valley of the Oker, good Harz mountain water and hops from the best growing areas in Germany give the beers their uniquely authentic taste and make every "Altenauer" a very special sip of culture.

There are direct sales in the farm store as well as brewery tours, information can be found on the homepage.
