This route starts at Romkerhall and passes the impressive Romkerhall waterfall via the Bergmann path towards Treppenstein, a bizarre granite rock cliff (511 m above sea level). Over the more than 1000-year-old rock stairs, you climb the summit of the Great Treppenstein, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view
over the Okertal. The stamp station No. 117 (Treppenstein) of the Harzer Wandernadel hiking badge is located right on the path. In the shade of the fir trees, you can take a short break here before continuing towards Kästeklippen. Nearby, you will find the Kästehaus restaurant with another stamp station No. 118 (Kästehaus). Passing the rock formation Hexenküche below the Kästehaus, you continue via the Mausefalle to Feigenbaumklippe. Here the path leads over the Kleiner Romke to the Romkerhall water path. Finally, it leads back
to the starting point.
For the viewpoints at the cliffs, a head for heights and surefootedness are sometimes required.
Sturdy footwear is recommended.
