Zoo Hexentanzplatz

Short facts

Find in the zoo a cross section of local wildlife with some of these animals are no longer to be found in the wild.

The Zoo Hexentanzplatz (witches dance square) is amidst an old beech and oak forest, directly on the edge of the nature reserve Bode valley. Find here a cross section of local wildlife with some of these animals are no longer to be found in the wild. The main focus is put on to the protection, conservation, breeding and, if possible, the reintroduction into the wild. Almost all aviaries and enclosures are designed in combination of nature and space, for example the beautiful 3.000 m² large wolf territory or a bear forest with an area of 5.000 m². Both are unique within the Harz.
