Titan RT Suspension Bridge and GigaSwing

Short facts

  • Thale OT Wendefurth

The suspension bridge Titan-RT and the GigaSwing at the Rappbodetalsperre are two of the highlights of the Harz Mountains.

The Titan-RT spans the Bode in the middle of the Rappbode valley. The filigree rope construction was completed in 2017 and clings to the slate cliffs on both sides of the valley with an enormous tractive force of 947 tons. Four main supporting cables form the backbone of the structure. The 120 cm wide catwalk (grating) is bordered along its entire length by a 130 cm high railing and is closed at the sides by stainless steel nets.
Sturdy shoes and a little bit of courage are all you need to experience a very special adventure at a height of 75m. Discreet bridge lighting ensures a safe crossing even after sunset.
Directly below the Titan-RT is an experience in a class of its own. The GigaSwing is the most spectacular pendulum jump in Europe. Alone or in tandem, the bravest of all Harz visitors can plunge into the depths.
