Kyffhäuser Thermal Bath

Short facts

  • Bad Frankenhausen

The Kyffhäuser Therme is at the heart of the Bad Frankenhausen saltwater spa.

You can swim or bathe in the spacious pool landscape or just allow yourself to drift away in the sauna garden that runs alongside the historic town wall.
The large indoor pools are heated up to 35°C and are equipped with massage beds, waterfalls, jet stream canals and whirlpools. Both the young and the young at heart can have fun on the giant water slide. And the Roman steam bath is an excellent place to enjoy a bit of a time out.
Take some time to indulge yourself in the lavish sauna area. Five saunas that are maintained at different temperatures as well as the sauna infusions you just have to experience will warm you up nicely. The two outdoor saunas - the "Kaisergrotte" (Kaiser's grotto) and the "Kaiserpfalz" (Kaiser's palace) - are perfect for sauna lovers! In the "Kaisergrotte" earth sauna, 100° C and a blazing fireplace create a more than cosy atmosphere with sauna infusions to remove all of your tension and stress. The "Kaiserpfalz" is an log sauna at a temperature of 85° C, where a herbal brew over the stove exudes aromatic fragrance. After your sauna session, relax on the saltwater graduated wall and breathe in the healthy salty air before you cool off in the luxurious shower, the ice fountain or the cooling pool in our sauna garden. Our panoramic relaxation room promises relaxation and also offers a view of the Leaning Tower of Bad Frankenhausen®. Enjoy the panoramic relaxation room, the cooling pool, the ice fountain as well as the saltwater graduated wall to make your stay unforgettable.
Himalayan salt and original Dead Sea salt from Jordan have been used on the walls and floor of the Dead Sea salt grotto. When the room temperature is 22°C and the air humidity is up to 60%, negative ions dissolve from the salt and enrich the surrounding air. In addition, the salt cave is nebulised with saltwater from a certified local Kyffhäuser spring
Round off your stay in the wellness oasis with the extensive range of massages, relaxation baths, soft pack applications and combined wellness treatments. Of course, local saltwater is also used in the wellness oasis.
The health-promoting effect of saltwater is used in the Kyffhäuser-Therme to treat disorders of the skin or the respiratory and musculoskeletal systems.

please note: closed for one year from november for renovation work
