Short facts

  • Clausthal-Zellerfeld

In the old Zellerfeld mint, located between the spa gardens and the mining museum of the mining town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld in the middle of the Upper Harz, a glassworks now has its work and showrooms.

The mint, where the Oberharzer Taler was once minted, has become a place of German glassmaking art thanks to restoration and the arrival of a number of artisans such as glass cutters, engravers and glassmakers. Here you can experience the over 2000-year-old craft of glassmaking up close. With the help of professionals, those who like to experiment can make their own glass souvenir at the "Glass blowing for everyone". Glass bells are also blown in the glassworks. The result can be admired when the glass chimes ring out. Changing glass art exhibitions round off the colourful sightseeing program.
