The Wurmbergseilbahn in Braunlage is the longest cable car in Northern Germany and transports its passengers comfortably in about 15 minutes to the top of the Wurmberg to a height of 971 m above sea level.
It is operated with a transport capacity of 960 passengers per hour and direction and is currently one of the most modern single-cable ropeways in Europe.
The Wurmberg is a popular excursion destination. The fantastic view over the Harz and to the Brocken is unique. In summer, a large adventure playground, a goat and hare enclosure and a ride on the monster scooter ensure plenty of variety. The Wurmbergalm caters for the culinary needs of its guests. In winter, the Wurmberg offers numerous winter sports activities such as cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing and winter hiking.
The cable car also transports prams to the summit.
