In the special atmosphere of the Klosterhof, the CAFÉ and GÄSTEHAUS IM KLOSTERHOF offer an ideal place to relax and enjoy.
Café - guest house - crafts - store - garden
In the special atmosphere of the Klosterhof, characterized by the large garden with sculptures by the artist Bernhard Löning, the CAFÉ and GÄSTEHAUS IM KLOSTERHOF offer an ideal place to relax and enjoy.
Run as a family business by Benno and Anna Löning, visitors to the café will find a wide range of coffee and tea specialties, while the cakes and tarts are baked on site according to the seasons.
Public events such as exhibitions, lectures or concerts, from old-time blues to St. Nicholas jazz, form another mainstay of the café, and artists from the region and throughout Germany are invited in cooperation with local partners.
With our HAUS UND HOF LADEN, we link up with local producers and offer their products as intermediaries: Regional delicacies, handicrafts and other useful items such as brushes, soaps and shoe polish but also Harz whisky, spice blends and sweets.
The HANDWERK IM KLOSTERHOF area is another focus of the Klosterhof with a course program in wood crafts for amateurs and advanced students who want to get to know and experience the range of traditional work with wood. The course program is organized by DICTUM GmbH, fine tools from DICTUM are available in the tool store.
Exhibition:
The canoness Roswitha von Gandersheim writes impressively and very vividly about the beginnings of the monastery and the collegiate church of Gandersheim in her epic poem "Das Gedicht von dem Gandersheimischen Klosters" (The Poem of the Gandersheim Monastery) around 950. Over 1000 years later, excerpts of the poem - in the German translation from the 19th century - are presented for everyone: Displayed on large panels, framed by small complementary figures under the old coach house in the café garden of the Brunshausen monastery courtyard.
