The Carlshaus in the Harz Mountains - luxury holiday home in the wilderness

Many people remember the Carlshaus in the Harz Mountains from their youth: the romantic forest lodge between Wernigerode and Schierke was a popular hiking destination and youth hostel during the GDR era. No wonder: even in the beautiful Harz Mountains, it is rare to find a house in such a secluded and romantic location. For centuries, the Carlshaus has stood in an enchanting forest clearing with a view of the picturesque Hohne cliffs at the foot of the Brocken.

In 2017, the Carlshaus was completely renovated and converted into a cosy private hunting lodge. Today it offers up to six people every modern luxury and comfort in a spacious 100 m². A fireplace, tiled stove and furnishings full of historical charm ensure a cosy atmosphere. Those who enjoy cooking and entertaining in style will enjoy the modern, fully equipped kitchen and elegant dining room. And those simply looking to relax will be spoilt with many high-quality details such as the free-standing bathtub, the luxurious mattresses or the spacious sofas in the living room.

The Carlshaus is the ideal holiday home for a break in the Harz mountains. Close to the Brocken and other popular hiking destinations, you are very close to the spectacular nature of the Harz mountains. Whether with family, friends or for special business partners, whether as a retreat to relax or for a sporting holiday - the Carlshaus is something very special.
