The officially recognized resort of Guentersberge is a district of the town of Harzgerode and is situated on the banks of the Selke; directly by the Selketalbahn, one of the most beautiful stretches of the Harz Narrow-Gauge Railway.
The 67km-long Selketal-Stieg takes hikers directly through the picturesque little town.
With many more walking and cycling trails, a nature trail with several carefully designed information boards and a picturesque mountain lake suitable for water sports, a large sunbathing area and the typical nature of the Harz, Guentersberge invites you to a relaxing but also adventurous holiday.
A complement to the nature trail in a permanent exhibition located at the tourist experience building "Old Elementary School", Forest Cabinet, you can learn everything worth knowing about the topic of the indigenous forest.
A special highlight is the extraordinary mousetrap and museum of curiosities. On display are all kinds of mouse traps, and rare utensils and other curiosities. You will also discover the "Gallery of the Washrooms" a unique picture of this most human of all topics, unique in Germany.
With the children and recreation centre, Güntersberge is a spacious, multi-functional resort with endless recreational activities and accommodation.
In winter, cross-country ski tracks to explore the snowy winter woods are available.
