Hohegeiss

Resort and winter sports centre

The resort and winter sports centre Hohegeiss is a district of Braunlage and is surrounded by flowering meadows and green forests at an altitude of 642 meters above sea level.

With its clean air, pristine and untouched nature, blooming mountain meadows with rare plants and herbs, and romantic valleys, Hohegeiss is an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation. A visit to the Wooden Church "to the gates of heaven", built in 1701 is one of the places you will discover on a stroll through this small town.

Also worth visiting is the local history museum "Old Parish" in the oldest house in Hohegeiss. Here you will find interesting facts about the history of the town and the former inner-German border, which once ran along this town.

You can be active here on hikes or mountain-bike tours through the unique landscape and Harz, in the summer months in the idyllic forest pool with diving and beach volleyball court in Hohegeiss.

In the cold season, the landscape presented to Hohegeiss is beautifully white. On a tour of the well-groomed network of cross-country trails or on a hike through the snowy landscape you'll experience the beauty of winter. The ski centre "On Fire", a sledging run and ice rink complete the extensive winter sports.
