Sorge in the Harz
district of the Upper Harz and Brocken
The small mountain village Sorge is surrounded by natural beauty in the Bode Valley. Far from the noise of big cities one can enjoy the untouched nature of the unique forests and meadows.
You can explore the surrounding area on extensive hiking trails. The boating lake with barbecue area, the children's playground and a small waterfall are beautiful and interesting destinations even on a short visit here in the Harz.
Of particular interest is the Grenzlandschaft Sorge (former German border landscape) with the original border fortifications, the "Ring of Remembrance", a nature art project, and the small museum at the former German border station.
Another highlight is the steam train of the Harz Narrow Gauge Railway, which stops in Sorge on its way to the Brocken.
In winter enjoy the wonderful well maintained cross-country ski network that takes you across the Harz winter world.
