The town got its nickname "window to the Harz" because of an interesting project. During a town tour, you can stop and rest at seven places, where you can see “through a window”, historical buildings and sights of the town and find out more information.

Through these seven windows, you can see the Wilhelm Busch sculpture, the Baroque St. Andreas Church, the Town Museum, which in addition to the development of the manufacturer of cans for the food industry; introduces an honorary citizen of the city; William Steinway, son of H.E. Steinway, the district court in Castle Sehusa, the Ratskeller, the St. Vitus Tower, the old writing school, the community centre and the Koch’s yard built in 1674.

In addition to the sights seen through "Windows to the Harz", is the very special place Wilhelm-Busch-House. The famous artist and poet Wilhelm Busch lived in the old rectory during the last 10 years of his life, and here you can get a glimpse into the life and works of this man.

Leisure and family fun is guaranteed at the Sehusa water world with a swimming pool, diving tower, children's pool with magic slide and pirate ship, the salt water pool, a bio bath, a beautiful sauna world and a large outdoor area with sun deck, baby play corner, beach sports and mini golf.

A special highlight is the Sehusa festival, which has been held on the first weekend in September since 1975. The unique festival is the largest in northern Germany, where over 1000 residents participate in games and dances while wearing historical clothes and re-enact the history of Seesen.

Hikers and sports enthusiasts will be entertained on guided walks, on the mini golf course, fitness and activity course in the Kurpark or with their mountain bike on the great trails of the Volksbank Arena Harz, as well as the cycle paths D3 and R1.
