Schlosshotel Großer Gasthof
The van der Valk Schlosshotel Ballenstedt is located at the heart of a stunning natural landscape embedded between the densely wooded slopes of the Lower Harz. The hotel, which forms part of a old castle complex featuring a castle, castle chapel and park, is situated opposite the historical castle theatre and was constructed back in the 18th century to house guests visiting members of the royal line. After being demolished in 1996/1997, the building was later rebuilt and basked in new splendour. The castle hotel is now a unique architectural example of the construction styles that defined the Baroque period in the German town of Ballenstedt. It is located in close proximity to the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site in Quedlinburg, which invites visitors to come and enjoy a stroll through the old town centre and discover plenty of highlights. Guests wanting to treat themselves to relaxing beauty treatments can make the most of the hotel's swimming pool, saunas and treatment facilities.
