The municipality Lamspringe, located in the foreland of the Harz and known for the many half-timbered houses in the Old Town as well as the idyllic setting between forest and landscape with meadows, is a wonderful destination for those seeking relaxation. Numerous sports facilities and cultural offers ensure plenty of variety.
A special highlight of the town is the public park. As a former fruit and vegetable garden of a Benedictine monastery, it is now home to numerous attractions and leisure-time possibilities. Especially worth seeing are the cath. Monastery Church, the abbey of the former Benedictine monastery and the monastery mill with water wheel. Sports fans will be delighted about the three sports halls, various sports and tennis courts, a riding track, a shooting range, a miniature golf course and the Skulpturenweg, a cycling and hiking trail which was built on a disused railway line and connects the former Lamspringe Monastery with the Brunshausen Monastery.
The local museum in the former monastery presents interesting stories about the past of Lamspringe and the surrounding area.
Swimmers and sunbathers will enjoy visiting the Forest Pool Lamspringe. Located on a sunny southern slope, the bath offers everything the heart desires: a 50-metre pole, a 3-metre diving tower, a giant slide, a splash pool for the little guests and a lawn with beach volleyball court, table tennis and playground.
Meet top-class artists from all over the world during the Lamspringe September. For one month, the town presents a variety of events in the fields of music, theatre, visual arts and literature.
