National Park village on the northern edge of the Harz
The National Park Community of Ilsenburg lies with within the districts of Darlingerode and Druebeck on the northern edge of the Harz, at the foot of the Brocken, and amid the scenic nature of the romantic Ilsetal.
The health resort Ilsenburg with numerous trails such as the Brockenaufstieg, the Heinrich-Heine-Way, the Green Belt and a well-developed, yet natural walking and cycling network of roads through the Harz National Park, as well as the introduction to the mountain-bike trails of the Volksbank Arena Harz, is a popular destination for holidaymakers, nature and hiking enthusiasts.
Along the Romantic Road is located, 1000 years of monastic settlements in Ilsenburg and Druebeck. You can immerse yourself in the Romanesque period of the Middle-Ages, as well as to the time of the Ottonian Empire. The visit of these is characterized by high architectural and historical buildings of significance, which can be excellent with a pilgrimage through the 32km long Monastery Hiking Trail that connects Druebeck to Goslar.

With the Cabin and Technology Museum , housed in the former residence of Hereditary Count of Stolberg-Wernigerode, the turbulent history of the town of Ilsenburg offers another cultural highlight.
Fun for young and old can be guaranteed in the Ilsetal Kneipp facilities, set in the romantic forest pool in Sandtal in Darlingerode and in the national park in Ilsetal.
