Wilhelm Busch moved in 1898 with his sister Fanny and the family of his nephew Otto Nöldeke to Mechtshausen into the local rectory. Here he spent his last ten years of life, in which he created numerous poems. He enjoyed the idyllic village and the beautiful view from his two rooms over the nearby mountain range. His final resting place is in the cemetery in Mechtshausen. See in the Wilhelm Busch house the two rooms where he lived and admire some great exhibits in the showrooms. While overlooking the garden, you can listen on an audio to his work, letters and poems. In the former rectory you can also watch a film about his life.  In addition, you can buy books, posters and gift items. A small cafeteria invites you to coffee and cake.
