Sorge

The small mining village of Sorge is surrounded by unique nature in the valley of the Warm Bode River. Far away from the noise of the big cities, you can enjoy the unspoilt nature of the forests and meadows. The surrounding area can be explored in an informative and eventful way on widely ramified hiking trails. The gondola pond with barbecue area and the children's playground makes a nice destination for a relaxing afternoon.

Particularly worth seeing is the Sorge border landscape with its original border fortifications, remnants of the former inner German border; the adjoining natural artwork "Ring of Remembrance" and the small border museum in the former railway station.

Another highlight is the steam locomotive of the Harz Narrow-gauge Railways, which makes a stopover at the station of the small village on its way to Mount Brocken.

In winter, the wonderful white winter world of the Harz Mountains reveals itself to the guests on a groomed network of cross-country ski trails. You can find more information on the winter sports page: wintersport.harzinfo.de.
