Hahnenklee-Bockswiese

Just 'wander'full

The climatic spa Hahnenklee-Bockswiese is a district of Goslar and surrounded by lush mountain meadows, clear mountain lakes, small streams and green forests on a sunny plateau in the Upper Harz region.

The landmark of the city built in 1907-1908 is the Norwegian Wooden Stave Church.

Hahnenklee is one of the most beautiful hiking areas of Germany, because of its healthy climate, stunning scenery, numerous hiking trails including the walking route 'Liebesbankweg' (Lovers' walk), a 7 km long circular trail with 25 individual designed benches in stunning locations overlooking beautiful scenery, telling the story of marriage and love. Various excursion options, such as the ponds and watercourses of the Upper Harz Water Management System, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the 726-metre-high Bocksberg with the Bocksberg cable car, can be wonderfully combined with the walking tours and thus promise a special nature experience.

With the extensive mountain bike trail network of the Volksbank Arena Harz, the seven different downhill trails of the Bikepark Hahnenklee, the BocksBergCarts and the toboggan run 'BockBergBob', the town leaves nothing to be desired for mountain bikers and sports enthusiasts.

A local history exhibition in the 'Kurhaus' informs visitors about the history of Hahnenklee; the Berlin operetta artist Paul Lincke, who spent his twilight years in Hahnenklee; and the tradition of mining in the Harz mountains.

In winter, the Hahnenklee ski area on the 726-metre-high Bocksberg provides a snowy winter sports and nature experience on various, partly artificially snowed ski and snowboard slopes with 2 T-bar lifts and a practice lift, as well as one of the longest toboggan runs in the Harz and the approximately 14 km-long groomed cross-country ski trail.
