just wander full
The climatic spa Hahnenklee-Bockswiese is a district of Goslar and surrounded by lush mountain meadows, clear mountain lakes, small streams and green forests on a sunny plateau in the Upper Harz.
The landmark of the city built in 1907-1908 is the Norwegian Wooden Stave Church.
Hahnenklee is one of the most beautiful hiking areas of Germany, because of its healthy climate, stunning scenery, numerous hiking trails and the newly opened Liebesbankweg (lovers walk) in 2007: a 7km circular trail with 25 individual designed benches in stunning locations overlooking beautiful scenery, telling the story of marriage and love. Various excursions, such as the ponds and streams that make up some of the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Harz Water Management and the 726 meter high Bocksberg which you can reach by the Bocksbergseilbahn (cable car), can be wonderfully combined to make tours and promises a special experience with nature.
With extensive mountain bike trails of the Volksbank Arena Harz, plus seven different slopes on the Bike Park Hahnenklee and the Monster Scooters on the Bocksberg you can be sure that mountain- bikers and sports enthusiasts have all they need.
The local history exhibition at the Kurhaus tells the story of the German composer Paul Lincke, who was the creator of the Berlin operetta "Berlin Luft" the hymn of Berlin, who spent the last few months of his life here and is buried in the town cemetery.
In winter there are plenty of chances to go skiing in Hahnenklee; the 726-meter Bocksberg with different, partly artificial snow ski and snowboard runs, 2 lifts and a rope tow, and one of the longest sledging runs in the Harz and about 14km of groomed trails for a snowy winter sports and pristine nature.
