Friedrichsbrunn

The state-recognised climatic spa and winter sports resort of Friedrichsbrunn is a district of the town of Thale and lies at 533 m above sea level on the south-eastern edge of the legendary Bode Valley.

With its more than 190 km long network of hiking trails in and around the village, Friedrichsbrunn is a popular holiday destination among hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers. Surrounded by mountains, valleys and meadows, you will come across interesting sights such as the Teufelmühle ('The Devil's Mill'), the Adlereiche (the Eagle's Oak) or the 'Bergrat Müller' pond on various circular hiking trails or on a hike in the direction of the Bode Valley.

The small public park with its 'Gradierpavillon', a facility for salt production, and the 'Bonhoeffer House', an educational and memorial institution and meeting place, are also well worth a visit.

With the 'Bodetal cross-country skiing arena', the winter sports resort of Friedrichsbrunn presents itself in the cold season with an approximately 16 km long network of cross-country ski trails on three different circuits of varying degrees of difficulty. Numerous toboggan slopes and beautiful winter hiking trails round off the extensive offer.
